Dark Blue       

Dark Blue fields are optional information.  Although they do not have to be filled in, it is recommended to input as many as possible for a more complete database and better reporting.

Light Blue       

Light Blue fields are display-only informational fields. The cursor will not land in these fields.

The information in these fields cannot be changed from that particular window.

Gray   

Gray fields are browse-only, however the cursor can land on these fields so that the Options button may be used.

Gray fields are typically used in tables where  a "Browse" feature is available, for example to Browse Vendor information from the Check Inventory Status screen.

TECH TIP:

Fields that are not used can be changed to light blue (display only). 

This will cause the cursor to jump over them, providing faster data entry navigation.

Field colors within MAPCON can be easily changed. For example, some facilities prefer to change the Submitted By field on the work order to be Required (red) instead of Normal (dark blue). Access through the Utilities menu, Window Definition Menu, Window Control Definition. Change the Edit Type of the desired control (field).  Contact your knowledgeable MTI Support Specialist for more information.
