Programmed Reports

MAPCON for DOS and MAPCON for Windows share a common set of Programmed Reports that use a standard MAPCON sub-routine: PRINT_IT. The sub-routine has the same parameters for DOS and Windows versions. Previous MAPCON users can convert reports using PRINT_IT to a Windows version with ease.

If a programmed report is not cataloged using the Report Maintenance Utility, the system defaults to Allow Print Preview and Allow Printer Select. These options can be changed for each report if the report is cataloged. Queries cannot be used with Programmed Reports since all selection is done programmatically.

Note:  If the report needs to be compressed, you must check the Compressed Report checkbox.  If the report needs to be in landscape format, you must check the Landscape Report checkbox in the Report Maintenance Utility.

Programmed Reports can be added to MAPCON Menus using the Menu Generator utility.

Since the routine PRINT_IT does not support proportional fonts, all Programmed Reports are in Courier 10pt. Compressed reports are in Courier 6pt. When printing landscape reports, the report must be checked as a landscape report and the user must select landscape from the Windows printer selection box.
