Export Reports

A Report can be exported to a .SHZ file and viewed independently of Mapcon Lite and the Mapcon Lite database.  ReportViewer.exe, found in the Mapcon Lite directory, provides this capability.  You can freely distribute ReportViewer.exe to anyone who is interested in viewing Mapcon Lite Reports.  You should perform the following steps:

   Select or create a new Report.

   Click on the Preview Tab to preview the Report

   Click on File  at the top left corner of the screen.  When the File Menu appears, click on Export.

The following popup will be displayed.

   Select Shazam Report for the file type.

   Enter the File Name. Click on OK.

Optionally, you may click on Options to place a password on the file.

   Enter and confirm the Password and click on the Done Button.

   Send or Email FileName.shz and the ReportViewer to the person who needs to view the Report.  The .shz file will be in the Mapcon Lite directory.

The person receiving the .shz file and ReportViewer.exe should:

   Create a directory for Mapcon Lite Reports.

   Copy the .shz file and ReportViewer.exe to the newly created directory.

   Place an Icon on the Desktop for the Report Viewer.

The Report Viewer should be sent only once.

The recipient can then use the Report Viewer.to preview and print all current and future.shz files.

Report Tutorial

Login to Mapcon Lite.  If you are not in the Training Database, go to the System Initialization Screen.  On the bottom right hand corner of the screen, change the Database to Train.  Close Mapcon Lite and restart it.  You should now be logged into the Training database.

The following features of the Mapcon Lite Report Writer will be demonstrated:

   Selecting a database.

   Viewing or modifying the Data Model of the selected database.

   Creating a Query.

   Previewing the Query.

   Modifying Query Fonts and Titles.

   Creating Labels.

   Report Layout.Previewing the Report.

   Saving the Report for later use.
