MAPCON On-Demand includes all of the features of MAPCON Jemms including PocketMaint PDA capabilities to create the most feature rich CMMS available. MAPCON On-Demand can be setup and ready to use in less than 10 minutes by any just about anyone familiar with a computer.
One significant difference between MAPCON On-Demand and other versions of CMMS is that MAPCON On-Demand vigorously pursues a strategy of architecture neutrality. In other words, MAPCON On-Demand connects to databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Interbase) and communicates with various other software packages (accounting packages, spreadsheets, word processors).
Configurable Look and Feel Styles
MAPCON On-Demand is a 'Swing' application. Swing is the standard GUI toolkit provided with Java. Swing allows an application to switch between numerous 'look and feel' styles. Each gives a slightly different look to the various visual components (scroll bars, dialog boxes) of the maintenance management software.

Accessing MAPCON On-Demand from the Web
Most SaaS Software packages are browser-based and SLOW! However, MAPCON On-Demand uses new technology from Sun Microsystems that completely removes the requirement for a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Instead, direct Internet access makes MAPCON On-Demand FAST and easy to deploy for non-IT end-users of maintenance management software.
MAPCON On-Demand Philosophy
MAPCON On-Demand and MAPCON Jemms are the newest versions of MAPCON's well-regarded maintenance management software written using Swing for the graphical user interface.
Swing has much the same purpose as HTML (hypertext markup language), but is much more powerful for your facility management operations. HTML products are intended solely for the world of browsers. Swing will work in browsers such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, but Swing will also work as a non-browser application. Adaptable to many computer environments, and like a chameleon, Swing can have the 'look and feel' of the computer environment it is running in. For example: a Swing application running on Windows looks like a Windows application, and running on a Macintosh will look like a Macintosh application.
In creating MAPCON On-Demand we wanted a product that reflected the same philosophy that marked previous versions of MAPCON CMMS - an asset management software product that mirrored the ways that Maintenance workers actually worked, one that was user friendly and one that could be altered by our clients to reflect their working environment.
