C. Generate PM Work Orders

Generate PM Work Orders by invoking the Generate PM Work Order function. This is an automatic process that will create all Work Orders due within a specified date range. Normally, this might be done for a week ahead so that next week's work can be scheduled.

Setup

Step 1:

Access through:

            Admin Icon

            System Initialization Menu

            Maintenance Initialization Menu

            Set Maintenance Software Switches

PM Descriptions must be approved before they can be used - Click on the checkbox if PM Descriptions do not require approval before they are used. If the checkbox is blank, anyone can create and edit PM Descriptions, and PM Procedures will also not require approval before they are used. There is no revision history.

If the checkbox is checked, a special ISO-9000 audit mode will be operational. PM Descriptions are written to a special holding file when they are created or edited. In the case of editing, the unchanged and already approved PM Description will remain in effect. Anyone can create or edit PM Descriptions, but they will not go into effect until they have been approved. The Authority Control System is used to give an Employee the authority to approve Standard PM Descriptions. When the PM Description is approved, a revision number is added to the old PM Description and it is transferred to the history file along with its list of Maintained Entities. The newly approved PM Description is then transferred to the active file and the list of Maintained Entities is added to it. This provides a full audit trail of all revisions of any PM Description.

Step 2:

Access through:

            Admin Icon

            System Initialization Menu

            Maintenance Initialization Menu

            Set PM Generation Start Date

Enter the Start Date for PM Generation. At the time of PM Work Order Generation, the system generates all PM Work Orders due within a specified date range. The range always begins with the Start Date (which cannot be edited at run time) and ends with the Ending Date prompted for at the time of Work Order Generation. Once the generation process is complete, the Start Date is updated to the Ending Date plus one day. This prevents any dates from being skipped by the PM Work Order Generation process.

Step 3:

Access through:

            Admin Icon

            System Initialization Menu

            Maintenance Initialization Menu

Set 52 Week Start of Year

Enter the date upon which the 52 week schedule is to begin.
