            Maintain Departments

Department - Enter the Department Name to create or click on Lookup to get a selection list containing existing Departments.

GL Code - Enter the GL Code that will be used as one of the five parts of the Mapping Code for the Ledger System. The GL Code will default to GN for General. If it is unchanged, the Ledger System will not differentiate costs by Department. This will only be required if The MAPCON Ledger System is enabled checkbox is checked.

Description - Enter a description of the Department.

Optional fields: If the software switches "Use Extended Authorizations" and "Use Department Level Authority" are turned on:

Supervising Department - Enter the department name of the next higher level of authority when dollar value on Requisition is above what someone in this department can authorize.

Required Requisition Authorizations

Fill in the user's Mapcon sign-on initials for those who can authorize requisitions in this department. Dollar Limit levels are set in Employee Authorizations.

Click on Save to save the record.
