The Garlic Company, located in California, provides premium quality garlic to retail, industrial, and foodservice consumers. The plant has one location and 33 technicians. They started working with Mapcon Technologies, Inc. in 2013 and have seen vast improvements in maintenance management productivity and cost savings since then. Not only that, MAPCON CMMS has also made reporting faster, easier work scheduling, increased asset lifespan, and easier part ordering possible.

The Challenges and Solutions

Prior to working with us, The Garlic Company used paper and pen for all of their maintenance activities. Before MAPCON, preventive maintenance tasks were done by hand. Each task had to be printed and handed out. Then, details of the work were written down and handed back in to a supervisor. This manual process took a lot of time and effort.

I love Mapcon. The program was very easy for me to learn and use effectively. Everyone that works there is wonderful.

Now, the work orders are automatically generated and the techs are able to see and complete them directly on their mobile devices. This automation has saved them over 826 hours per year just on PM tasks!

The Garlic Company has also seen improvements elsewhere. Administrative time saved on work orders with MAPCON adds up to around 41 hours per year (an entire work week!), and technician time spent on work orders has gone down by 20 hours per year. That time savings allows them to complete other projects, and make employment decisions.
