Red Star Yeast Added Maintenance Management PDA Software

Red Star Yeast, based in Cedar Rapids, IA, recently added MAPCON's maintenance management PDA (PocketMaint) and barcode (ScanMaint) software. Red Star Yeast plans on barcoding their inventory spare parts and using the PDAs to scan the parts as they use them on their work orders. They will have a wireless network setup throughout the plant, and have already purchased a PDA loaded with the maintenance management and barcode scanning software for each maintenance worker.

With the quick response time, the wireless PDA maintenance software will show them the work order history on the equipment before they start turning the wrench. As they walk their inspection route, they can immediately create a work order to follow up on any situation they discover. Eric Tucker, Maintenance Planner and MRO buyer, is excited to have this extended capability and is looking forward to doing the job more efficiently. Getting a handle on identifying everything they have in inventory is a huge goal and they can accomplish this with their new wireless PDA maintenance management modules.
