Meet Mapcon Mondays - Featuring Chad Carter
Welcome to another edition of Meet Mapcon Mondays, a monthly interview series starring one of Mapcon's illustrious employees. This time we're sitting down with Chad Carter to hear about his tenure here at Mapcon Technologies, Inc.
Q: Introduce yourself.
A: My name is Chad Carter. My rank is Tier 2. My serial number is classified. Job title = Advanced Technical Support. My duties include creating reports for clients, as requested, based on their specific data needs, helping our clients understand how to navigate MAPCON better and being available to fix minor issues with their system via the back end (SQL).
Q: Without revealing a deep, dark secret (unless you want to), tell us something about yourself most people don't know.
A: I have Asperger’s Syndrome, which is on the Autism Spectrum. This makes me both very good at math and analytics but also inhibits my communication ability. I consider it more of a gift than an inhibition as I like to look on the best side!
Q: Tell us about your Mapcon experience.
A: I’ve been a MAPCON employee for about 1 year and 8 months now. I’ve seen a lot of change since I got here, including a couple of retirements (Steve Wigton and Aaron Tobiason) as well as a couple of people leaving for other opportunities. It’s a small company, so every change is noticed, which is a nice thing about it. We’re small enough that we actually have the time to care about each other and get to know each other better. It’s like a mini family. I’ve been through many version upgrades and am currently learning the development side of MAPCON so stay tuned…
Q: Outside of work, tell us what you enjoy.
A: Outside of work, I absolutely love watching sports, playing strategy games on my phone, reading my Bible, spending time with friends when they are free (rare), running and other physical activities that make me sweaty.
Q: What is one aspect about Mapcon you would like customers and future customers to know?
A: I think people should know that MAPCON is a place where you will get direct customer service. We will get to know you better on an individual level as we help you with your problems. You’re not just a number at MAPCON. Also, the technology is pretty cool as well. It helps organize data a LOT and saves our clients a bit of time.
