In Memory of Arch Madden

The MAPCON Family would like to honor the memory of MAPCON's previous owner and friend Arch Madden. Arch was a strong and caring man that will be missed by all of us at MAPCON.

ARCH I. MADDEN

April 26, 1924 - July 9, 2009

Arch I. Madden, long time Des Moines resident and businessman. He was previously owner operator of multiple Des Moines businesses to include McDonald's Restaurants, Camelot Cleaners, VEGAS Corporation and Mapcon. Arch died in Omaha, Nebraska at his daughter's home.

Born in Des Moines to parents, Arch I. Madden, Sr. and Mabel Moss Madden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Bolms Madden; daughter, Sandra Madden; brother, Robert Madden; and sister, Mary Madden Spencer. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Madden Resch of San Jose, CA; his children, Vicki Madden Marquart and her husband Gerald of Omaha, NE, and Gary Madden and his wife Cieli of Bellingham, WA; grandchildren, Adam and Tracy Marquart, April Warford, Jason and Marcia Madden, Chad Marquart, Joshua Madden and Ryan Marquart; and his great-grandchildren, Paris, Graycen, Brenna, Autumn, Cameron, Zander and Trevan.

In the giving spirit that was Arch's character, he had donated his body for research to the University of Iowa. The family asks that you honor Arch's memory by "paying it forward" to help another individual as Arch often did in his lifetime. A memorial service will be held to honor him on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel.
