Meet Mapcon Mondays - Featuring Emily Hillman
Welcome to another edition of Meet Mapcon Mondays, a monthly interview series starring one of Mapcon's illustrious employees. This time we're sitting down with Emily Hillman to hear about his tenure here at Mapcon Technologies, Inc.
Q: Introduce yourself.
A: Hello, my name is Emily Hillman, not to confuse you with my maiden name, which is Hollman. Changing my last name by one letter on EVERYTHING was super fun. Haha. I am the administrative assistant for Mapcon Technologies. I answer incoming calls, enter new sales, send out contracts, assist with billing, along with other odds and ends around the office.
Q: Without revealing a deep, dark secret (unless you want to), tell us something about yourself most people don't know.
A: Shortly after I moved to the Des Moines area years ago, an acquaintance introduced me to the sport CrossFit. I have been addicted to it ever since. You’ll find me at the gym bright and early, or I should say dark at early, most weekdays before work. Also, I met my husband at the gym. I guess it was meant to be.
Q: Tell us about your Mapcon experience.
A: For nearly seven years, I have had the pleasure to be part of the Mapcon Family. In the early years of my employment, many of our clients were upgrading from Mapcon 5x to 6x. We’re not going to put a number on it, but I have entered A LOT of sales through the years. My coworkers were very busy with converting data to the new system, custom programming, and providing on-site training. Most of our clients are on the newer software and love the customizability of it.
Q: Outside of work, tell us what you enjoy.
A: Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me at the gym, reading books, bike riding with my gym friends during the summer months, or attending car events on the weekends with my husband.
Q: What is one aspect about Mapcon you would like customers and future customers to know?
A: After working at Mapcon for almost 7 years, it still amazes me when people call in and are surprised to hear an actual voice, not a recording, answering their call. Mapcon employees take great pride in providing our customers with top-notch service and that starts with talking to an employee from the get-go. I love talking with customers and potential customers.
