Welcome to another edition of Meet Mapcon Mondays, a monthly interview series starring one of Mapcon's illustrious employees. This time we're sitting down with Brock Prusha to hear about his tenure here at Mapcon Technologies, Inc.

Q: Introduce yourself.

A: Brock J. Prusha

Vice President / Sr. Developer

Serial # 2-Coco Puffs

In charge of new product development, product management (upgrades/patches/etc.), managing/training new developers, and overseeing custom development.

Q: Without revealing a deep, dark secret (unless you want to), tell us something about yourself most people don't know.

A: I coached Special Olympics soccer for fifteen years and have an annual church camp for kids, and when I eat potato chips I shake the bag to look for the curled chips because I think they’re crunchier.

Q: Tell us about your Mapcon experience.

A: Started in 1993, so almost thirty years. Programmed the DOS, Windows, and Web versions, along with some other odds and ends. The biggest changes were when we employees bought the company in 2000 and when we introduced the web-based version, particularly the hosted model.

Fun Facts: At one time Mapcon was in use on all continents, including Antarctica.

Like all great software stories, it was started in a garage.

Mapcon is made here in America, no overseas development.

It's over 800,000 lines of code.

Type "Aaron Axiom" or "Start my Car" in the Mapcon search bar

Best Thing: Incredible Flexibility, like a well-trained gymnast.

Q: Outside of work, tell us what you enjoy.

A: I’ve been an avid video gamer since 1980! Most would say I’m a large Sci-fi buff, mainly SW (Star Wars), ST (Star Trek), and DW (Doctor Who). Spending time with family, especially my wife and three sons. I love watching my boys play sports or music. I’ve seen just about every game or concert.

Q: What is one aspect about Mapcon you would like customers and future customers to know?

A: Mapcon is not just about the software, it’s about the people behind it. We are dedicated to making Mapcon work for you and have been for over thirty years. We strive to make every customer feel like family, whether it is through the annual users' conference, on-site visits, training, or phone support. People work late, over weekends, from home, travel on weekends/holidays, and go that extra mile not because they’re forced to, but because they genuinely want to see our customers succeed with Mapcon.

Brock is a valued member of the Mapcon team, and we can't wait to see what other innovations he'll forge in the future! Join us again next month to get to know another member of the Mapcon family.
